I've Been Benched
My Olympic knitting has ceased: I've been benched by a wrist that started aching on Saturday evening and not even a supportive wrap helped much. It was hard to put the needles away for a while.
My knitting binge resulted in nine bibs and six washcloths.
I am so sorry, Nancy...painful, painful. Rest, ice, elevation...
ReplyDeleteYikes, Nancy! Time to hit the books for a while! Hope it gets better quickly!
ReplyDeleteDrats! Hope you can find something else to keep you busy while it all heals up............
ReplyDeleteOh no, pain is not good! Especially pain that won't let you do what you love to do. Don't exchange your knitting binge for an eating binge!! hahaha I hope it heals up fast, it's no fun being grounded.
ReplyDeleteLots of garter stitch with cotton yarn is tough on a knitter. It's the same stitch over and over and the yarn doesn't stretch and give as much as wool or acrylic. Be sure to take a lot of time off for your wrist to heal. Maybe now is the time to catch up on book reading.
ReplyDeleteI hope your wrist heals quickly! Beautiful bibs and wash clothes, by the way! :)
ReplyDeleteNancy you do such beautiful work. I can't imagine you being down for long. I will be praying that your hand heals quickly and completely, not only for knitting but for everyday use without the pain. Love ya Deb.
ReplyDeleteI'M SO SORRY NANCY, PRAYING FOR NO PAIN REALLY SOON. YOUR HEART IS TO BIG FOR YOUR HANDS I GUESS. BUT THAT'S A GOOD THING. I KNOW YOU HAVE A GOOD BOOK WAITING FOR YOU TO READ. PUT YOUR FEET UP AND ENJOY.
ReplyDeleteOh Geesh! Not too fun to have wrist pain from doing what you love. I have two wrist splints that help tremendously. I wear them while sleeping and in the morning/afternoon, my wrists have no pain. I bought mine at CVS and they are adjustable to any size wrist/hand. I highly recommend them.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, we will miss your beautiful creations!
Nancy
