Hometown Stars
I am using some of fat quarters I purchased last month to make Ohio Stars for a Quilt of Valor that I am naming, Hometown Stars in honor of those hometown stars who serve and protect this country.
The stars, 12 inches when finished, will be very scrappy.
When I saw the July/August issue of Love of Quilting and the quilt named, Stars of the Past, I knew it would be the perfect setting for these stars blocks. The top should be finished by the end of the week.
Looking good!! I love the scrappy look... my favorite kind of quilt.
ReplyDeleteTalk about never being idle...you are the star:)
ReplyDeleteI'm drawn to scrappy quilts. I like how a quilter can take seemingly unrelated fabrics and put them together in a way that makes sense and is beautiful. Your squares are turning out nicely.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! Looks great. Have you every heard of a T-shirt quilt?
ReplyDeleteSo great--a patriotic quilt--really beautiful
ReplyDeleteThe Hometown Stars are coming along very nicely. I need to invest in more navy and red fabric. Really, honestly... I need it... ha! I will hold off for a while. We'll see how long I can avoid buying fabric of any kind.
ReplyDeleteYour startis reat and it won't take long to make all the stars you need.
I love it. The blocks are so wonderful and the colors are great.
