Summer & Fall Knitting

Hand-knit socks
summer and fall 2024

I’ve been knitting steadily, but I haven’t posted finished projects in a long time.

Patons Kroy (blue/green marl) - Faternal Twins

Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock (Zombie BBQ) - yarn a gift from Cheryl O.

Unknown manufacturer and color - one sock finished; another on needles - yarn a gift from Cheryl O.

Unknown manufacturer and color - one sock finished; another nearly finished - yarn a gift from
      Cheryl O.

In addition to knitting for my feet, I knit 16 “socks” for my kitchen table chairs from partial balls of Noro Silk Garden (assorted colors). I plan to knit 8 more for the two remaining chairs. The chairs slide better on the laminate when wearing “socks.”

  1. I think third from the top is my favorite but they're all lovely!

  2. Lots of lovely socks here, but I've never heard of socks for kitchen chairs.

  3. What a beautiful collection of socks!
Your chair sock idea is brilliant. Since we put the new floors down I have these rubber things on the legs of my chairs that look so ugly. Daughter calls them the chair condoms and she's not wrong. I think I need to start knitting.

  5. Such pretty socks!! I have a couple of pair that my cousin knit for me that I wear around the house to keep my feet warm. But both are too thick to wear with shoes. LOL Socks on chair legs is a great idea!

  6. The socks are beautiful and nice to see you are still knitting, too! I should try some chair socks-Bill just bought some plastic things and they do not slide well at all!

  7. Hi Nancy! Your socks are beautiful. The colors are so pretty. I really like the idea of your chair socks. Would you be willing to share your pattern? I think I could use some for our dining chairs.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  9. Warm socks mean warm feet. I imagine in Laramie you will really enjoy those socks.

  10. You are a terror with those needles. It's fun to see all the socks together. The bottom one looks like the cuff was knitted with more than just a pearl 2 knit 2 pattern. Did you do something fancy or is it just the coloring of the sock? You make me want to whip out my current sock knitting and finish it. But, alas, too many other things are calling my name. Now, back to regularly scheduled quilting!
