But our elevator has rail service--I know up to 100 cars can be parked on the siding to be filled. Seems strange but it is a very big elevator that has people delivering grain to from 100+ miles away. In the county I grew up in, kids would break into the abandoned ones and often get seriously hurt or even die. I have many memories of the grain elevator in Riverton (which has been torn down), as I used to ride with my dad in our big truck and sit at the elevator while the truck was loaded with grain to bring back to the store. <br /><br />It's rather fun to look at these buildings now from a more historic viewpoint.
