Speak only when spoken to. I don't remember much of anything else. We didn't have an initiation day but we had big brother and sister day when seniors were assigned as guides for freshmen. Mine was a 6' 5" football player who left a rose on my locker on my birthday and holidays and came to every band concert and play that I was in. These are the things that make high school bearable.Katherinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06450679959206351852noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6407290539855175918.post-25045646736692416362015-10-12T18:35:48.988-06:002015-10-12T18:35:48.988-06:00Hum, I don't remember any "initiation&quo...Hum, I don't remember any "initiation" per say, but why do I have a freshman beanie?? I graduated hs in 69 but we lived in Northern VA, a suburb of DC -- they might have thought we were too sophisticated for this. Plus it was a new school -- we were the first class to go there all 4 years. Except, I moved my senior year. <br />Boo! Then when I went to college at SDSU in the fall of 1972 we had initiation too. The freshmen at SDSU wore green beanies and had all kinds of odd facts to memorize and songs to sing, etc when meeting up with anyone on the Hobo Day committee. MOST of it all was in fun both in HS and college.Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06412341664506380343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6407290539855175918.post-12339277694173440892015-10-12T11:21:22.129-06:002015-10-12T11:21:22.129-06:00That's quite a long speech to memorize! My class's crazy outfits for initiation included wearing an onion around our neck on a piece of string. That was so stinky!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09497292872289897109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6407290539855175918.post-43346031937910983642015-10-12T10:17:49.455-06:002015-10-12T10:17:49.455-06:00No I was a Freshman in 1966 and it wouldn't ha...No I was a Freshman in 1966 and it wouldn't have been allowed...too many Scandinavians in this area:)Far Side of Fiftyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07995757632158408442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6407290539855175918.post-75475951355769285102015-10-12T08:12:00.468-06:002015-10-12T08:12:00.468-06:00Yes I did...people bought you and you had to dress...Yes I did...people bought you and you had to dress weird and do things for them like clean their lockers and etc. Changes in the windhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06942797186537814864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6407290539855175918.post-47117968743058530362015-10-12T07:50:33.646-06:002015-10-12T07:50:33.646-06:00I think it was all in fun and certainly no hazing....I think it was all in fun and certainly no hazing. I probably would have been a nervous wreck if we had--afraid I would mess up on the speech and have to face the Kangaroo Court.Tracy Batchelderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18137536258043194796noreply@blogger.com
