I've Been Benched

My Olympic knitting has ceased: I've been benched by a wrist that started aching on Saturday evening and not even a supportive wrap helped much. It was hard to put the needles away for a while.

I wonder if it was caused by knitting with straight needles after knitting exclusively with circular ones.

My knitting binge resulted in nine bibs and six washcloths.

  4. Oh no, pain is not good! Especially pain that won't let you do what you love to do. Don't exchange your knitting binge for an eating binge!! hahaha I hope it heals up fast, it's no fun being grounded.

  5. Lots of garter stitch with cotton yarn is tough on a knitter. It's the same stitch over and over and the yarn doesn't stretch and give as much as wool or acrylic. Be sure to take a lot of time off for your wrist to heal. Maybe now is the time to catch up on book reading.

  8. I'M SO SORRY NANCY, PRAYING FOR NO PAIN REALLY SOON. YOUR HEART IS TO BIG FOR YOUR HANDS I GUESS. BUT THAT'S A GOOD THING. I KNOW YOU HAVE A GOOD BOOK WAITING FOR YOU TO READ. PUT YOUR FEET UP AND ENJOY.

  9. Oh Geesh! Not too fun to have wrist pain from doing what you love. I have two wrist splints that help tremendously. I wear them while sleeping and in the morning/afternoon, my wrists have no pain. I bought mine at CVS and they are adjustable to any size wrist/hand. I highly recommend them.

Meanwhile, we will miss your beautiful creations!
