Autumn's Rebels

Nearly barren branches shudder and shake

desperately trying to loosen the brown leaves,

clinging to summer's memory.

Below, the cast-offs swirl and dance on the wind,

forming streams of gold, brown, and red

that ebb and flow down the street,

taking the warmth of summer with them.
